Welcome to the bustling metropolis that is New Hope, Virginia.

I found that it was hard to encapsulate how beautiful the Appalachian mountains are within the realms of a digital camera. I think as soon as you point and click your camera, you constrain yourself to the image it captures. To get the full effect you have to just stop on the side of the road and just absorb it all.

Anyway, here are my futile attempts of capturing the beauties of New Hope, Virginia.

These are great. I love the lighting, especially on the neighbors. I love the grass in the foreground of the prairies shot too. Thanks.

These are beautiful pictures of a town that I grew up in. My parents and most of my siblings still live about a mile from the New Hope grocery. I used to ride there with my grandfather to get ice cream back when it was Paxton's Service. The bridge I belive is the old Mt Meridian bridge and back when you could cross it that road would take you to Mt Sidney, past an octagonal barn. I attended New Hope United Methodist Church. Man, I miss that place. Sure beats the traffic in Fairfax, VA.

Thanks, Mike. I'm glad you've enjoyed my pictures. It makes me a little homesick for my parents' place, revisiting these pictures again.
